Company Profile
John Grant Mainland founded mainland Nursery in 1919. He ran
the nursery until 1938 as a retail-wholesale operation. In
that year he closed down the retail section of the business.
In 1952 the business was taken over by his daughter Isabella
and son-in law Bud Merrill. Mr. Merrill ran the business until
his retirement in 1991 when his son Jack took over the operation.
The
principal managers of the nursery are Jack Merrill, C.E.O.
and General Manager; Chris Merrill, Vice President & Product
Development, Key Accounts manager; Pat Kraemer, Operations
- Production Manager; Mike Bennett, General Sales Manager;
Doug Kirkle, Inside Sales Leader & Distribution Manager
